Faith’s  Sunday  News

WELCOME TO FAITH!

We are glad to have you worship with us today! May the Holy Spirit speak to your heart and mind as the Gospel is proclaimed. We welcome you to Sonoma Valley if you are new here. Please sign the guest book in the church entry and introduce yourself to Pastor Tom. You are most welcome here; do come again!

MAKING OUR WEB-SITE WORK FOR US. . .

Our parish web-site flcsv.org is current each week.  The Sunday sermon, thanks to John Casciani, is included on the site and is updated by noon on each Tuesday.  If you must miss Sunday worship, log on and receive the message.  Tell your friends and neighbors and especially any home-bound people you may know.  Sharing our web site “plants a seed” among your neighbors whom you then can invite to worship with you at Faith.  Let’s make our web site work for us… and for the Lord!

LIFE ISSUES  God and the world take very different approaches to the value of life.  The world around us says: “Life is valuable only if there is a high enough quality of life to justify it.”  God says in His Holy Word: “While there may be different qualities of life, God extends to all human life an absolute value.  Human life is the object of His love and His plan of salvation.”  Join us on Sunday mornings at 8:30 am in Goehring Hall as we continue our lively, relevant study of life issues.  Join the learning the laughter and the rich fellowship that happens when we engage in the study of God’s Holy Word together.

THE JULY “GRAPEVINE” ARTICLES DUE TODAY  Please bring all articles to the church office this morning or, if you forgot to write an article but would like to have information included, let Pastor Tom know and we will put some information together for you.

ROCKY ROAD  That’s a favorite flavor of ice cream.  It also describes the beginning of a fascinating major new Bible study for Faith’s people on Thursday evenings in Goehring Hall at 6:30pm with Pastor Tom.  We are beginning our study of the Book of Genesis… which lays out the history of humanity… a rocky road indeed!  The creation of the world… humankinds’ original relationship to God… our fall into the depths of sin…the promise of a divine savior… it’s a rocky road that beckons you to travel the distance with us.  Join us.  We’d love to have you study Genesis with our growing Bible study community on Thursday evenings.

4th of JULY BBQ will be held on our patio next Sunday, July 6th immediately following the service.  Please see Sandy Thompson for more

information.  Sign up in the Narthex if you would like to bring a salad or               dessert.

BOOK CLUB   will meet in September to discuss The Pillars of the Earth. Please keep up your reading and join us for lively discussion in the fall.

TUESDAY AFTERNOON BIBLE STUDY will take a summer break during the months of July and August, effective this coming Tuesday, July 1.  God willing, we shall resume our reading through St. Matthew’s Gospel on Tuesday, September 2nd
at 1:00pm in the conference room.

LITTER REMOVAL Many thanks to the dozen hard workers who picked up litter last Saturday on Hwy. 121/12: Cindy Hingtgen, Sandy and Alan Piotter, Mary Piller, Joanne LaFramenta, Lynn Banfield, Jim Engelman, Roger Westberg, Scott Bamford, and Ann and John Marozik.  If we had saved all the hubcaps we’ve picked up over the 9 years some of us have been doing this, we could open a used hubcap business!  Next opportunity to join in the fun is tentatively set for Saturday, Aug. 23rd.

PLEASE REMEMBER IN YOUR PRAYERS  Muriel Masztal, Kathy Van Riper (daughter of Ann Marozik), and the family and friends of Karin Paulson.

LOST AND FOUND  When items are found in the church and Goehring Hall, they are kept in a safe place in the office awaiting their owner. If you think you have recently lost a personal belonging here at Faith call the office and see if it has been found.  Occasionally we discover that items are missing from our grounds… currently at the top of this list is our Social Ministries green tablecloths (6). If you have borrowed these items and have not yet returned them please let Sandy Thompson know.

ACTIVITIES DAY  is ceasing for the summer and will reconvene in October.
